Which 48 Pin Knitting Machine Will Suit Your Needs?

If you have been reading this blog for a while, you will know by now that my absolute favorite when it comes to these types of machines is definitely the Addi Express Knitting Machine. This one falls short of two pins with only 46, but I thought it deserves a mention due to it being such a great buy.

Addi Express Knitting Machines are made in Germany, which is probably why they are the highest quality, most popular, and most expensive of all the 48 Pin Knitting Machines.  If you want to find out more about this awesome machine, you can read my full review here.

The Addi makes knitting at lightning speed loads of fun. The machines come in different sizes, but the one pictured here has 46 needles.

Other features include a row counter, replacement pins, a threading tool, instruction book, and clampers. The machine makes plain items of up to 45 cm wide and works best with yarn thickness 3.5 mm to 8 mm, which is DK to super chunky yarn.

The Addi is great for creating items like scarves, ponchos, pillowcases, and Afghans.

The next machine I am going to recommend would be the Sentro.

The Sentro has 48 pins and is a great little machine for both kids and adults. Yarn types that best suit this machine are 5mm and less.

You can knit in sheets or circular with the simple switch of a button.

The machine comes with a row counter, crochet hook, needle, screwdriver, yarn, and a wireframe.

The 48 pin knitting machine above is similar to the Sentro but is like their no-name brand at a better price. It is a great machine for beginners and a great way to get into the world of loom knitting. Hats, scarves, and socks are a breeze.

Like the Sentro you can convert from plain to tubular knitting with the flick of a switch.

This one makes a perfect gift for somebody wanting a machine like this.

The yarn you use with this machine should not exceed a 5mm thickness.

The one above is very similar to the Sentro with all the same features and a better price. In fact, I am almost sure it is made by the same people.

The final two 48 pin knitting machines on this page have very mixed reviews, with some people loving them and others not so much. I owned a similar machine in the past, and the main issues were solved by just changing to thinner yarn. If you use yarn that is thicker than the machine can handle, it will drop stitches.
