Brother Success is a book about how to do Thread Lace on your Japanese Knitting Machine. If you are the proud owner of another brand of machine, you can also see patterns here.

This is not a traditional knitted lace where stitches are transferred. Rather it is a technique that simultaneously knits with two yarns that match in color-one of the yarns being very, very fine (basically thread) and the other being fine to medium. It gives the resulting knit fabric a lacy look, hence the name “Thread Lace.” It is an interesting technique to learn to do on your Brother Knitting Machine if you have one.

  1. My mother has several Brother knitting machines and yarn, I am looking for information as to the value and where I would best find a buyer for these items. I live in Upstate NY (Adirondacks)

    • Hi Marjorie,

I would contact Brother directly to find out what they are worth. Next you could try advertising them in your local classified ads or any online platform in your area, as I am sure you would find somebody who is interested. Brother is very expensive to purchase new.
