How To Make Tile Coasters

Cut out your images and make them slightly smaller than the size of the tile to allow for a small border around the edges.

Heat each tile in the microwave for about a minute. This will help the ink transfer to the tile more easily.

Place your image face down onto the warm tile and pour some nail polish remover onto a ball of cotton wool.

Rub this over the back of the image until the entire surface of the image is covered with nail polish remover.

Hold the image in place and do not move it. If the polish remover starts to evaporate, simply pour some more onto the cotton wool and rub the image again.

Lift a corner of the color copy to check if the image has transferred. If you are happy that this is the case, leave to dry for a few minutes.

When all the tiles are done, peel off the paper and remove any paper residue with the tips of your fingernails.

Seal the tile with sealer or varnish.

Stick felt squares underneath the tiles to stop them from scratching your surfaces.
