Finishing:
Darn in the loose ends of yarn on the WS of the work. Join the two straight heel edges together (the short outer edges).
Join the sole section to the top of the slipper easing in the fullness around the toe.
You may find it easier to work a row of gathering stitches first in a contrasting colored thread and pull it in to fit the sole.
Distribute the gathers evenly, otherwise, they might pucker at the toe.
Remove the gathering stitches when the seam is completed.
Cut the length of the ribbon in half. Fold one length of the ribbon in half and sew it to the center back of the slipper with a small hand stitch. Repeat the process on the other slipper. Or sew a row of ribbon rosebuds around the upper edge of the baby shoe.
