Have you seen the knitting site ‘Knitting For Olive?’ If you are an avid knitter, Knitting for Olive might be something you want to take a look at. So what is Knitting For Olive……?
What Is Knitting For Olive?
Knitting For Olive is a website that is focused on beautiful knitting patterns and yarn that will inspire even a beginner at knitting. They also claim to be an environmentally friendly company and carefully source their yarn from reputable sources. Most of their yarn is in beautifully natural colors, which is what attracted me to the site in the first place.
The History Of Knitting For Olive
Knitting for Olive is a family-run business based in Copenhagen and surrounded by lots of kids, who give them countless inspiration and ideas. The patterns are created by the mother and daughter team and they always have new patterns coming out.
At the end of 2015, Knitting for Olive started off by selling knitting patterns for babies and toddlers. They quickly expanded to children’s sizes, and in 2018 they started designing their first adult-sized patterns.
To be able to give you the best knitting experience, Knitting for Olive decided to start offering yarn. The vision was to offer high-quality yarns made of purely natural fibers created with respect for both the animals and the environment. The selection of yarns comes in merino, soft silk mohair, cashmere, cotton merino, pure silk, heavy merino, and double soft merino.
The knitting patterns are available in the following languages:
This makes Knitting for Olive accessible worldwide.
I love the color match section, where you can select a yarn in the perfect color for your next project, or simply match it up to what you have in your stash already.
I also love that they have a detailed section devoted to how to read their knitting charts.
If you visit their Facebook page, you will see the stunning knitting patterns that they offer. Most of the knitting patterns are designed for the more advanced knitter, as the patterns are intricate and do require concentration. However, they are some of the most stunning knitting patterns I have seen to date.
Here is a screenshot of just some of the patterns that they offer.
As you can see, they are definitely more for the advanced knitter but I am sure you will agree with me that they are gorgeous.
