Being a lover of anything crafty, I have always found jigsaw puzzles fascinating. The concept of putting small pieces together to make a beautiful picture does provide a thrill when you get it completed. The more difficult the puzzle, the greater the adventure will seem and it is always good to challenge yourself.

It is also very important to encourage your children to build puzzles as it is good for their fine motor skills as well as their problem-solving skills.

Three-Dimensional or 3D puzzles are a type of puzzle that allows you to create a three-dimensional object from two-dimensional pieces. Unlike traditional puzzles, which are limited to a single plane, 3D puzzles can be assembled in multiple ways to create objects with depth and dimension.

  1. I have always been fascinated with jigsaw puzzles even before 3D puzzles became a fad. ☺ I see jigsaw puzzles as a brain stimulant and it makes me feel good every time I put together one design. I still have my collection and most of them are framed, and displayed in my study/office.

But in today’s world of advanced technology, I am not sure there are many children who enjoy jigsaw puzzles, certainly not my kid (sigh). I did try to introduce them to my kids but they do not seem to be too interested. Do you have any tips on how to make them get excited over 3D jigsaw puzzles?

  2. Hey, you. I liked your topic. It is so genius. I remember when I was younger I made too many 2D puzzles, there was a lot of fun and I enjoyed it. Know if I have time I do puzzles too. I make beautiful handicrafts. I think 3D Puzzles can be a great choice for a gift even for adults.

  3. I came across your page looking for puzzles. My wife works on puzzles a lot and really enjoys them. When the grandchildren come over, they sometime help find some pieces for her. They are pretty good at it. Sadly, my eyes just don’t seem to focus very well on the pieces anymore. My eyes just seem to dart around and I get a bit anxious. So I let my wife get all the enjoyment. I will need to show her these 3D puzzles and determine if she is up for a new challenge. The Notre Dame puzzle looks fascinating!

  4. Hi Michel.

I had no idea 3D Jigsaw Puzzles existed.

They add another interesting aspect to a classic puzzle that most people have played with during childhood.

On a side note – I have a Grandson who has Autistic traits – When he visits he does a Jigsaw puzzle with my wife and it immediately makes him calm and focused, he definitely benefits from these puzzles.

It would be great to see how he gets on with the added simulation of a 3D version, i feel that it could help him further.

    Thank you for the information.

    Regards Mike
