Free Baby Bootee Knitting Pattern
This pattern fits 0-3 (3-6) months.
The length of the foot is 9 (10.5) cm.
Instructions are given for the smallest size with the larger size in brackets as you see above. If only one set of figures is shown it will apply to both sizes.

You Will Need:
These booties were designed to be made in 100% pure wool DK. If you think the wool will be to scratchy for your babies skin, you can use any DK baby wool.
1 x 50g ball of DK Pure Wool
1 x pair of 4 mm knitting needles.
22 sts over 30 rows to 10cm measured over stocking stitch using 4mm knitting needles.
How To Knit Roll-Top Bootees
Make Two Alike:
Using your 4 mm needles, c/on 30(36) sts.
Work one row in purl.
Inc Row (RS): K2, M1, k12 (15), M1, k2, M1, k12 (15), M1, k2 [34 (40) sts].
Purl one row.
Inc Row: K2, M1, K14 (17), M1, k2, M1, k14 (17), M1, k2 [38 (44)) sts].
Purl one row.
Inc Row: K2, M1, k16 (19), M1, k2, M1, k16 (19), M1, k2 [42 (48) sts].
Beg with p row, work 7 rows in st st on these sts.
Dec Row (RS): K14 (17), [k2 tog] 3 times, k2 [SKPO] 3 times, k14 (17) [36 (42) sts].
Next Row (WS): P21 (24), p2 tog and turn, leave the rem unworked sts on the right-hand needle.
Next Row: K7, SKPO, and turn, leaving the rem unworked sts on the right-hand needle.
Next Row: P7, p2 tog and turn, leaving the rem unworked sts on the right-hand needle.
Rep the last 2 rows once more.
Next Row: K7, SKPO and turn, leaving the rem unworked sts on the right-hand needle.
Next Row: P7, p2 tog, now p across all the unworked sts on the left-hand needle to the end of the row.
Next Row: K17, SKPO, now k across all the unworked sts on the left-hand needle to the end of the row [28 (34) sts].
Beg with a p row, work 7 rows with a p row, work 7 rows in st st on these sts.
Fold the booties in half with the right sides together. Starting at the toe section and working the seam just above the c/on edge, join the seam along the sole.
In the same process, join the seam at the back of the bootie.
Turn through to the right side and roll the top of the bootie over to form a cuff.
Remember that pure wool garments need a little more care. They should be washed by hand with a mild detergent or mild baby shampoo in cold water to prevent felting and shrinking.
Rinse well and gently remove excess water. Lay the booties flat and reshape them while still wet.
